Welcome To St Dominic's Catholic Church

Opened in February 1968 and now consists of about 1632 parishioners which adds up to 654 families.

The parish secretary is Mrs. Linda Madden, who works in the office from 08h00 to 14h30, Mondays to Fridays. St Dominic's also serves one Zulu outstation, Embo, which is situated in the beautiful Valley of 1000 Hills and is a place of worship for about 750 Zulu-speaking Catholics.

Confession

Pope Francis urges us to go to confession. "Everyone say to himself: ‘When was the last time I went to confession?’ And if it has been a long time, don’t lose another day! Jesus receives you. He will receive you with so much love! Be courageous, and go to confession.

Confessions are on Saturday at 16.45 or the First Saturday of the month after 08.00 Mass.

Pre-Baptism Course

 

 The next Baptism Course will be on Wednesday 20th February at 17h00.Parents wishing to have their babies baptised need to attend this course. Please make an appointment to see Father John before attending.

This week we meet two people who did not seem to care about being noticed.John the Baptist was not interested in gaining "followers" and "likes." Jesus simply was baptized along with other people who came to John. There was no dramatic spectacle. As Jesus begins his public ministry, he does so in a humble, unassuming, prayerful way. And that is how Jesus acts throughout the Gospels.
