Confession

Pope Francis urges us to go to confession. "Everyone say to himself: ‘When was the last time I went to confession?’ And if it has been a long time, don’t lose another day! Jesus receives you. He will receive you with so much love! Be courageous, and go to confession.

Confessions are on Saturday at 16.45 or the First Saturday of the month after 08.00 Mass.

Season of Advent

Advent is a period of preparation, extending over four Sundays, before Christmas. For Catholics, advent has two parts. The first part of advent, which extends from the 1-17 Dec. draws our attention to the second coming of Christ at the end of time. Then the second part, 17th-onwards, is to prepare for the first coming of Christ - His birth in a stable at Bethlehem.

Sunday Mass: More Than The Few

September 27th
"Our first and fundamental consecration is rooted in our Baptism...It does us good to remember that the Church is not an elite of priests, of consecrated men, of bishops, but that everyone forms the faithful Holy People of God." All the baptized need to take part in renewing and reforming the Church. The Church belongs to us all.

Sunday Mass: Ambition

September 21st
Ambition seems to be, at first glance, a bad thing. - This week's readings  warn us about only selfish ambition. There are two kinds of ambition. There is selfish ambition that leads us to seek personal glory and status, then there is selfless ambition that leads us to follow the example of Jesus who "did not come to be served but to serve."

Sunday Mass: A Globe not a Cross

September 14th
Faith that leads us to lift up our hearts in praise of God and faith that leads us to reach out to those in need are both required. Together they make up the cross we are to take up as followers of Christ. There is no such thing as a cross-less Christianity. Christianity is not meant to revolve around us.
